The Palos Verdes Peninsula High School Athletic Booster Club Hall of Fame honors athletes who have achieved excellence through their participation in sport, who have made outstanding contributions in the field of high school athletics and have been an integral part of the Rolling Hills High School or Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and/or the community.
Any athlete who has graduated from either Rolling Hills High School or Palos Verdes Peninsula High School is eligible for consideration if they meet the criteria below.
Hall of Fame Categories:
- Individual (single athlete)
- Siblings/Family
- Team
- Coach
- Lifetime Achievement
Individual, Siblings, or Family athlete nominees shall have competed with a high standard of sportsmanship, added to the success of the team, and competed with a positive attitude on and off the field. Additional accolades should be taken into consideration.
Team nominations should be those that performed ethically and at the highest level of expectations, demonstrating sound sportsmanship. Additional accolades should be taken into consideration.
Coaches (former or current) who have had outstanding success in their sports, service to the RHHS or PVPHS Athletic Booster Club, dedicated to the school’s athletic department, and dedicated to the athletes on and off the field. Additional accolades should be taken into consideration.
The Lifetime Achieve nominee must have achieved at minimum two of the following set criteria: Played for RHHS or PVPHS; connected to RHHS or PVPHS after high school in a significant way; and, excelled at college and/or at the professional level.
The following accolades should be considered as part of the nomination criteria:
- All-American selection
- All-State selection
- All-CIF selection
- All-League selection
- All-South Bay selection
- State Champion
- CIF Champion
- RHHS or PVPHS Athlete of the Year
- CIF Awards and/or Selection
- Personal or school record setter
- Post high school athletic career (college or professional)
- Coaches or team award selection
Additional Criteria and Guidelines:
An athlete who is a nominee for the Hall of Fame is subject to 5 year waiting period from the completion of their high school career. Siblings have a 5 year waiting period from the completion of the graduation date of the youngest sibling.
A special recognition or meritorious service is eligible for immediate consideration.
The number of inductees in any given year shall be determined by the PVPHS ABC for the Hall of Famecommittee.
Nominees not selected will remain eligible for a period of three years.
Consideration will be given to nominated athletes who attended but did not graduate. The Selection committee can recognize individuals who do not meet the criteria listed above.
